Is Your Name on Obama’s List?

Two connected but contradictory events occurred on February 13, in Washington, D.C., the world capital of political insanity.

President Obama’s Department of so-called Justice once again denied the existence of the CIA drone assassination program – this time in a federal court pleading.

That same day, retiring U.S. Defense Secretary Leon E. Panetta announced a new medal to honor computer pilots engaged in drone warfare, who kill under that allegedly non-existent program.

Panetta claimed the new Distinguished Warfare Medal will provide “recognition for the extraordinary achievements that directly impact on combat operations, but that do not involve acts of valor or physical risk that combat entails.”

Never mind whether this activity should be honored with an official medal from the U.S. government, but it does raise two important questions – is drone murder legal and is it constitutional?

It is an admitted fact that the president has ordered American citizens killed with these drones, none of them accorded the due process of law guaranteed in the U.S. Constitution. This president, acting as accuser, jury, judge, and executioner is engaged in a greater usurpation of presidential authority than the Founding Fathers could ever have imagined.

What Next?

This president’s oft-repeated claims of his supposed powers, and his apparent desire to circumvent Congress and the courts, should make all Sovereign-minded individuals ask: What exactly will Mr. Obama decide to do next to his fellow Americans – to you and to me?

We know, with a rapidly growing multi-trillion dollar deficit, the Obama administration is desperate for cash. So should we expect confiscation of our assets and wealth for the good of the state? How about IRS waterboarding?

You may soon have police surveillance aerial drones peering into your home windows – this is already a reality in several U.S. cities – but you still have time to protect the wealth and assets you have built up for the security and future of your family.

In spite of his repeated and phony warnings of doom, President Obama offered no plan to avoid sequestration, but we know he is hell-bent on raising taxes to finance his socialist schemes.

As a former professor of constitutional law, I would hope the president knows that the Bill of Rights guarantees every citizen due process of law. But if the president is willing to ignore the U.S. Constitution and order the murder of U.S. citizens, what might such a zealot do to implement his vision of social justice and redistribution of wealth?

If he is willing to snuff out lives, how long do you think your bank account will be safe?

Time for a Plan B

Rarely has there been a more appropriate time for Americans to consider possible expatriation, especially when considering the unconstitutional behavior of the current administration and their complete disregard for personal liberties.

The first step is obtaining foreign residence leading to a second passport.

You may find the quickest route to a second passport by looking up your family tree. Ireland, Poland, Italy, and Lithuania all grant passports based on parents or grandparents who were born or held citizenship there. Hungary joined this list last year and Bulgaria is the latest to welcome foreigners on this basis with a new law last month.

Obtaining immediate residence in a foreign country is not always difficult; Uruguay, Belize and Panama have special quick-residence programs. However, full citizenship takes time and requires actual physical presence: Singapore, two years; Belgium, three years; Uruguay, three years; Canada, three years; Panama, five years.

Your name may never be on President Obama’s drone death list, but events suggest you may need solid insurance against other threats of an increasingly tyrannical government. A second passport gives you needed residence options, better business opportunities and broader investment channels.

You too, need an escape route. It will be too late when your only warning is a knock on your door.
