Drifting Towards Totalitarianism
Of course, you say, that could never happen here in America, the Land of the Free!
Well friends, it already is happening. By the inch, the foot, the yard and the mile America is, perhaps unwittingly, moving toward becoming a totalitarian state.
Maybe you are not familiar with “totalitarian,” a word that was used frequently in the last century during the reign of dictators such as Adolf Hitler in Germany and Josef Stalin in the former Soviet Union.
Totalitarian describes “a centralized government that does not tolerate parties of differing opinion and that exercises dictatorial control over many aspects of life” — an authoritarian government that exercises control over the freedom, will, or thoughts of others.
Over recent years I have repeatedly exposed the insidious controls, regulations and limitations imposed on offshore banking, investments and other financial activity by presidents George W. Bush (PATRIOT Act) and Barack Obama (HIRE and FACTA) and the U.S. Congress, regardless of which party is in control.
Creeping Totalitarianism
But creeping totalitarianism takes many forms.
Indeed it runs counter to a principal that always has been revered in America – the Rule of Law. One observer writes that “…20th century questions don’t begin to come to grips with 21st century American realities…the very idea of a nation based on the rule of law, [is] a reflection of nostalgia for, or sentimentality about, a long-lost Republic.”
I am indebted to my friend and former colleague in the U.S. House of Representatives, the Honorable Ron Paul of Texas for factual examples of what I am refer to when I suggest that the United States is fast becoming a totalitarian country.
Says Congressman Paul: “Our Presidents can now, on their own: order assassinations, including American citizens; operate secret military tribunals; engage in torture; enforce indefinite imprisonment without due process; order searches and seizures without proper warrants, gutting the 4th Amendment; ignore the 60-day rule for reporting to the Congress the nature of any military operations as required by the War Power Resolution; continue the PATRIOT Act abuses without oversight; wage war at will; and treat all Americans as suspected terrorists at airports with TSA groping and nude x-rays.”
The questionable justification for all these restrictions on our freedoms is that since 9-11, 2001 the United States has been at war — but at war with whom?
Tomorrow the World
As Rep. Paul notes, these government power grabs are not confined within U.S. national borders.
Last week Congress passed the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2012. Section 1034 of that bill contains some extremely radical language that explicitly grants the president unlimited powers to conduct wars of his choosing. The section states as justification for this power grab that the U.S. is at war with the Taliban, al Qaeda, and “associated forces.”
But “associated forces” is defined to include anyone, including Americans, who support or aid an organization that substantially supports associated forces. There is no geographic limit and the enormous power granted is without an end date.
Ron Paul says you and I could find that our constitutional rights no longer apply if the United States government (whoever that may be) declares it to be “at war” with us. (See my comments yesterday about how the PATRIOT Act has been perverted and expanded so that almost anyone can be targeted by the FBI as a “terrorist”).
Nevertheless, an effort to have this unprecedented language removed from the bill unfortunately failed in the House by a vote of yeas 234 to nays 187.
What to Do
I wish I could tell you how you could help to end this galloping totalitarianism in America, but a majority of the politicians of both parties seem blind to what they are doing and allowing to be done.
Your salvation rests with you in an historic situation such as this.
We urge you to do all you can to order your personal and financial affairs in such a manner so as to protect yourself and your loved ones.
It may sound quaint, but among the building blocks should be carefully planned and executed offshore banking, investment and financial contacts. You might even consider foreign residence and citizenship.
And you are welcome to become a member of our exclusive Freedom Alliance.
The time may soon come when you will need all these defenses and more.

Greetings,
This is a timely article that was true even under Bush Sr. & B. Clinton. Now, as politely stated, even a blind man can see it. There are Lawful things that can be individually pursued; however, they will not be honored by this Bilderberg/Rothschild controlled Administration and Congress. Indeed, a nation’s, it has been said, leaders are an extension of the electorate. If this is true we are truly in deep trouble!
The fight or flight syndrome is where we are at present. If Texas and then some other States Legislatures would have taken a stand against TSA then I would still believe the country could be taken back, but as it is Flight comes to mind as my last recourse! Actually, Europe’s people are being subjugated as is the U.S. and Canada. Even now the same forces working in the U.S. (think, George Soros)are in full force there. Search “famous quotes of David Rockeffeler” and you will find the whole plan laid out from the 1991 Builderberg Group meeting in Germany. A great eye opener!

SUBJECT: Vehicles needed to hold assets inside a PIF

I pay a lot in subscriptions to Sovereign and read everything you write about the ongoing trend to erode citizens’ freedoms. This is all very well. However, in order to earn the subscription revenues you receive, Sovereign Society will have to furnish more specific directions as to how to locate and successfully apply to financial institutions capable of working with a PIF. For twernty yers I have concentrated on listed equities in Canada and Greater China. I am open to change if ther jurisdictions are available to PIFs However, I will not risk my capital by depositing into unsafe banks or broker/dealer firms. And I will not shoot the moon on fees and commissions. For three years I have approached almost EVERY concern listed in your reports and come up with a blank every time. In conclusion: Prove that what you advocate is possible in practice, not just in theory. Thank you. Sincerely, Tim Killen.
BOB REPLIES:
As you confirmed in an email to me, PIF stands for “private interest foundation.
As it happens, I authored an editorial on private foundations in our Sovereign Society online publication, The Sovereign Investor, earlier this week. You can read it by clicking here.
Your difficulty in placing a bank account in the name of a PIF in various jurisdictions probably is because the banks are not familiar with what it to them, is an unknown foreign entity. As you know, statutory authorization for a private interest (or family) foundation, as my editorial notes, is limited to a few countries.
However, a bank should be willing to open an account in the name of a PIF, as they should for a foreign trust or corporation. Such accounts in one country can then be used for investment purposes even though the bank is in another jurisdiction.
Nevertheless, it is in the discretion of each bank to accept or reject any account applicants.
You are absolutely right that this country is sliding down the “slippery slope” to totalitarianism. It has been going on for some time and is especially virulent in our public school system. The “politically correct” mindset is destroying our own country!
